That may feel like a Bandersnatch episode.
Unaccurate future on both ends,
And the switch you’ve got in your hand only leads to
one choice.
I wasn’t running away, nor was I dreaming awake
Did I behave wisely, or did my ambition need to be nur-
tured?
But when you told me how your new life had gotten so
vivid,
I felt that you had kept some dreams alive as much as I
did.
Even though I said I wouldn’t bury myself here,
I was too coward to commit, and couldn’t stay still

Where I still picture unborn children of ours

An emanation of my ego had stepped forward

Was I too afraid of being part of a small community that
would put too much pressure on my ability to grow up?
It was easier to leave. It always is.
Easier to keep moving than facing what uncovers
while staying still.
But I felt that you had kept this dream alive as much
as I did.
